Imaging when it matters, not when it's convenient for the system.

When a patient walks into APAM with a fall injury, a persistent cough, or unexplained pain, the ability to image on-site changes what is possible. Most primary care offices refer patients to an imaging center · which means scheduling a separate appointment, driving to another location, waiting for a radiologist to read, and then waiting again for results to be sent back. At APAM, your provider can order an X-ray, have it performed, and review the results before your visit is over. That is not a small convenience. For a child with a possible fracture or an adult with suspected pneumonia, it is a fundamentally better clinical experience.

Our X-ray equipment is state-of-the-art digital radiography, which produces higher-quality images with less radiation than traditional film-based systems. Images are available immediately in digital format, reviewed by skilled practitioners trained in radiographic interpretation, and stored permanently in your medical record. If a specialist referral is needed based on what the images show, that referral is made the same day · the process accelerates from the moment imaging is ordered.

X-ray across the full scope of care.

On-site imaging strengthens every service line at APAM. In urgent care, it is indispensable · the ability to determine on the spot whether a twisted ankle is a sprain or a fracture changes treatment, changes splinting decisions, and changes when a patient goes home versus when they are referred onward. In sports medicine, digital X-ray works alongside musculoskeletal ultrasound to give Dr. Edison and Dr. Sprouse a complete picture of orthopedic injuries. In primary care, a chest X-ray ordered during a sick visit produces results before the patient leaves the parking lot. No fax delays. No missing reports. No wondering.

Pediatric imaging receives particular care at APAM. Children are not small adults when it comes to radiation exposure, and our team applies age-appropriate protocols to minimize dose while maintaining diagnostic quality. Parents can be present with their child during imaging, and our staff is experienced in working with anxious young patients to produce clear, usable images the first time.
